What is an Ignition Lock-out Device {IID)}  {baiid} Breath Alcohol  Ignition Interlock Device  ?  An IID  / baiid can get your driver's license back after you've been arrested for drunk driving. It gets wired to your vehicle's ignition. It requires your breath sample before the engine will start. If the IID / baiid detects alcohol on your breath, the engine will not start. It's that easy ... and it works!

Security Plus Anonymity
Like the many tens of thousands of people before you, you were most likely compelled to be here because of a court order. We are well aware that you may feel apprehensive or even angry, and that the interlock is just part of the continuing night-
mare of getting caught. We also know that there are a few who are bound and determined to beat the machine and continue engaging in high risk.    (more)

How does it work? The device draws a small portion of your breath sample into a fuel cell sensor. Any alcohol present chemically reacts with the sensor, producing electricity which is precisely measured and translated into an equivalent blood alcohol concentration (BAC). If the result of your test is below the lockout point an encrypted signal is sent to a relay which will allow your vehicle to be started.                           (more)

Violations - The device monitors all of your activities when using the vehicle. It records the results of every test, or attempt to test, when the vehicle is started and when it is stopped. It records attempts to physically tamper with the device, circumvent a test or retest, or disconnect the device. It reports non human air samples or attempts to filter alcohol out of the breath or mask the amount of alcohol blown into the device.    (more)

All We Need From YOU!
We want to help you avoid problems using the device and to successfully complete the Ignition Lock-out program by providing proper training and ongoing support. It takes your active attention to under-
stand how the device works, and what to avoid doing to live by the "Do's and Don'ts" of the Ignition Lock-out program. By following these guidelines you will prevent the device from becoming an intursion.  (more)
